Putkiri Pagoda
Putkiri Pagoda, Cambodia, Kampot
This relatively new pagoda is aiming to smash the record for having the most Buddha statues in the world. There are currently tens of thousands of small golden statues that cover the hillside, which makes for a surreal sight. According to the Phnom Penh Post, the goal is to have a collection of 84,000 statues in total.
Putkiri Pagoda lies at the corner of Kampot, Kampong Speu and Takeo provinces. It’s not really located close to anything but is an easy stop on the road between Phnom Penh and Kampot. It takes about hour or two to detour and visit the pagoda.
