Phnom 1500 offers simply stunning vistas that stretch to the horizon and take in a patchwork of landscapes.
At this point on the National Road 55 from Pursat town, the road snakes its way up 1,500 metres (hence the name Phnom 1500) over the mountain range. Wind your windows down and turn off the air conditioning to enjoy the fresh breeze and views as you wind your way up the mountain.
The meandering mountain road was only officially inaugurated in 2020. It is popular destination among Cambodians, who simply want to see the road itself as it is still quite a novelty. It is often called the “eel” road.
If you continue over the mountain pass you will reach Thma Da Waterfall and Meteuk Thmda River.
