Events, Festivals and Exhibitions

There’s no better way to delve into Khmer culture than attending a traditional celebration – and there are plenty of festivals in Cambodia to be found packed into the annual calendar. From major religious festivals such as Pchum Ben to the traditions of Khmer New Year and the lively boat races of Bon Om Touk, there’s no shortage of celebrations and public holidays in Cambodia. As well as traditional and religious Cambodian festivals and holidays, the annual calendar presents a wealth of not-to-miss events. These include an international photo festival that sees Siem Reap spill over with creativity, readers and writers’ festivals in Siem Reap and Kampot, and an annual film festival that celebrates the work of a new generation of Cambodian filmmakers. Dotted in between are a series of noteworthy dates for the diary that stretch from gallery openings and the hottest new venue launches, to one-off performances and gigs, and a host of Phnom Penh events. Regardless, we’ve got it covered with our list of events, exhibitions and festivals in Cambodia.
