Phnom Penh Night Market (Phsar Reatrey)
Arguably the most famous night market in the capital, Phnom Penh Night Market (Phsar Reatrey) sits to the north of Riverside and is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Phnom Penh Night Market (Phsar Reatrey)
Expect there to be fairly large crowds and congested streets all around as locals and tourists pack in to buy clothes, jewellery, accessories, sample a variety of street food and enjoy local entertainment, the most notable of which are the live performances by local singers.
Don’t let the busy streets put you off as this is a place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy an evening in Cambodia’s capital city.
Phsar Reatrey is one of the major markets in the capital, along with the Russian Market and Central Market, that are great shopping options for travellers and tourists.
Surrounding the market are motorbike parking spaces, but if travelling by tuk tuk you may want to arrange a time for your driver to pick you up at a specified location as parking for anything larger than a motorcycle is limited. However, you can always get a local taxi to drop you off.
Nearby Attractions
One of the great aspects of the market is its location. Situated on Phnom Penh’s Riverside, you can easily stroll from here to one of the many restaurants or bars located here and enjoy the views of the river. The market is also close to Wat Phnom and the French Quarter of the capital located around the Post Office. This means that you can combine some shopping at the night market with dining and sightseeing, all within walking distance.
