Entanou Bridge (Kampot Old Bridge)

The old bridge of Kampot is a favourite landmark in the town and its distinctive shape is synonymous with the town.
Originally built in French colonial times, it was partially damaged in war times. It has undergone many iterations, but its current form sees the middle section rebuilt in a simpler style. Only the two sections closest to town are original.
These days only pedestrians, bicycles, motorbikes and tuk tuks are allowed to cross in order to preserve the bridge. Cars cross a newer bridge just to the north.
Since 2020, local authorities have piled some sand next to the bridge to create a small artificial beach, the reason behind this is not clear.
